Hey Mister

 HEY MISTER:

Guitar:

I struggled with the chords on this song as I included a C# minor which is a bar chord on the fourth fret whereas all my other chords were at the top of the neck. Due to this, I found myself having to rerecord the guitar despite thinking it was finished as I often missed this chord and it sounded muted. It's good that I went back to it anyway though due to me having to edit and fix the timing. I wrote this song before I could properly play guitar and so I had no sense of timing when playing which meant it was hard to pin point where the chords should go on the recording. I ended up following the vocal recording which I've never done before. Even so, I had to split the chords from one another and spend a lot of time moving them around slightly trying to get the perfect timing. Luckily, it's only one chord per bar at the beginning and so it didn't affect the fluency.

Once I edited the guitar to where I wanted it, I rerecorded it in order to fix the muted chords yet still had to do some edits in order to get the timing perfect.

Extra:

This is very much a 'power' song and so I think it would be good to have lots of voices on it so maybe like crowds on the chorus or bits of the song - like Livin' On A Prayer

- Added three extra voices to the choruses and the bridge - one I sang normally, one with a deep voice but same pitch and I held my nose for one and so it was very whiny. This is to give the effect of many different people. I'll edit them in terms of EQ and reverb on Logic at college on Monday

EDITED ON BANDLAB INSTEAD AS STRUGGLED WITH MIXING WHOLE TRACK. PREFERRED IN CONTEXT. MADISON SAID ACOUSTIC DIDN'T FIT THE VIDBE, ELECTRIC DID. DON'T HAVE AN ELECTRIC GUITAR SO ADDED DISTORTION AND IT WORKED. FADED IT BACK TO THE ACOUSTIC FOR THE VERSES.

STRUGGLED WITH EQ, COMPRESSION AND REVERB ON VOCALS SO REDID IT USING ONLY BANDLAB AND CAME UP WITH SOMETHING THAT I WAS HAPPIER WITH THAN THE LOGIC VERSION.
