Plan for Personal Project
- outline:
I'm recording a 14 track album of my original songs. I am writing all the songs myself with input from my Dad with advice on how to improve them of which I can either reject or utilise. He will do the drums by programming a drum machine on Bandlab of which I have the final say on and I'm writing the other instruments' parts as well as any effects or extra little bits and pieces.
- how it is gonna work:
I write the songs and then record them as a ghost track where it's all in time but not necessarily perfect playing/singing (e.g., I forget the words in some ghost tracks). He adds the drums when he can and I tell him what I want him to change (if anything). I rerecord the guitar with it being good playing and in time and then I add bass to it and once I'm happy with those, I record the vocals. After that, I work on the extra instruments such as midi and synths and little details and then I mix the track and add the AI mastering that Bandlab offers.

PICTURES OF DIARY TO SHOW PLANNING
- How - what is process?
Writing out what I need to get done for each track and then planning it all out in my diary for when I'm going to do what. My dad does the drums for my tracks and I have the final say on if I like them or what I want changed.
- Why - purpose of project?
I want to create a career in music recording and performing music and so I need more content out there for people to hear. It also would act as a portfolio to help when applying to Uni.

Personal Project:
My personal project is to achieve writing, recording, releasing and promoting a 14 track album. I'm doing it entirely by myself except that I have my dad who gives input on my songs as well as programming drum machines for my tracks. Overall, I still have the final say on whether or not I like his advice or what he programs on the drums. The method that I'm going to use to make it easier to record the songs is to first record all of the ghost tracks (a rough recording of the song that's all in time) which my dad can use to put drums to but excepting that, I will first record all of the guitar tracks as I envision them to be and then record the bass parts which I will write based on the root notes and add passing notes where I think appropriate and am able. This will also be a time where I will have to improve my skills at bass as well as guitar to be able to record them properly. Once I am happy with these parts, I will then record the vocals for all of the songs of which I think will take the longest due to the voice being human, it's the easiest for a listener to notice if something is off about it. After all of that, I will add in any extra instruments (whether MIDI or real) that I think enhances the sound without interrupting the main melody. It is important to note that I can change the order of any of these steps based on circumstances. For example, if I finish adding extra things to the track and then decide I'm no longer happy with the vocal, it might end up being the last thing I do before mixing. My intention by releasing this album is to have a bigger portfolio for when I apply to University as well as to help me to grow a bigger audience as an artist as I hope to create a sustainable music career with a loyal fanbase. The audience growth will also be helped along by my social media presence as I will upload every day with videos of my performances as well as videos about recording, writing and releasing music to help me to connect with my audience.
My target audience is mainly young people around my age however, I think that people from all ages could relate to my lyrics and hopefully like my alternative pop genre of music.
