REVERB Spring Plate Chamber - 'Golden' chamber, Capitol Studios Convolution Algorithm Ribbon mic - Amy Winehouse, Back to Black, Mark Ronson The way sound bounces around a space = reverb Different spaces affect the way we write music as they affect the way the music sounds/feels.  People used to move away and towards the mic to create reverb before we had devices for it.  Using samples from other spaces around the world to add lots of reverb on music.  Went to out of use oil tanks to get almost the longest reverb ever recorded.  Capitol Studios - 'Golden' chamber built beneath for reverb. Purpose built. First four chambers built in 1956.  Reverb adds emotion.  Spring reverb.  Use a huge, no longer used diesel chamber (in Scotland) for reverb - longest reverb in the world.  Lots of reverb creates emotion and ambience. Dreamy and floaty.  Too much reverb (length) drowns out the beauty of a note and makes a mess. Cathedrals built for reverb....
